Diner History: The (very) Basics

Diners are a piece of classic Americana that have played a big part in Pin-up’s formation. They are kind-of the equivalent of our greasy spoon cafes mixed with our traditional pubs.

The food, the atmosphere, the look, and the everyday wonderfulness have the same sort of charm as bowling & damn good dancing music. At the start many diners were prefabricated buildings that sold honest, everyday fodder to the working masses – prefab so the business could be established very quickly. Everyone goes to diners. Whether it’s to drink coffee & chat, have breakfast at 7pm or ice cream at 7am, or an overflowing plate of food from the grill.

Diners are characterized by offering a wide range of foods, mostly American, a casual atmosphere, a counter, and late operating hours.

Some of this info we’ve gleamed from Wikipedia (gotta love it!).
